Most people are very familiar with their vacuum. You need to clean the house, and that’s one of the major tools that you are going to use. It’s unavoidable.

What if you found out that there was a very efficient, quick, and easy way to clean your home? And what if it was actually a better clean than you get with a traditional vacuum? If this sounds of interest to you, you want to look into a central vacuum cleaner for your home.

A central vacuum cleaner is a built-in unit that pulls dirt and dust from around the house into the unit. This means that there is no need to haul around a portable vacuum cleaner. This in turn means that you don’t have to drag a machine that has a bag inside it that is brimming with dust and dirt, and take it all over your house.

There are even central vacuum units that have HEPA filters. A HEPA filter is so fine that it will trap the smallest of dust particles. This is a major improvement. There’s another benefit to the central unit, in that the unit can vent dust and dirt to the exterior of the home. This means the unit collects the dirt and dust, and then disposes of it as well as part of its function. No need to change or empty bags!

You can also look into a portable unit that is called a cyclonic system. In a cyclonic system, there is a rotating of air in the unit – like a cyclone, hence the name – and this rotation forces dirt and dust up into the bag.

This is a good system but still not as efficient as a HEPA filter. You can still have a small percentage of dirt and dust escaping. A central vacuum system can use a secondary filter to then remove any residual dust not caught by the first vacuum.

The major differences between a central vacuum unit and a portable vacuum is the central unit has a lot more power, and also that the central unit doesn’t have to be drug from room to room.

You may want to strongly consider getting a central unit especially if you have someone in the home who has a dust allergy. If that is the case, you may want to invest in the central unit so that you aren’t vacuuming all the time.
