There are so many different types of skin disorders, acne only being one of them. Wrinkles, acne scars, Rosacea and hyper pigmentation are just a few more to mention. Many of us will experience one or more of these at some point in our lives. How can we combat these issues naturally? Have you heard of using lemon juice for a homemade acne treatment?

Several factors contribute to the occurrence of skin disorders. Sun damage, the environment, cosmetics, soaps or detergents that contain harsh chemicals, and an improper diet. Getting sufficient vitamins and minerals plays a vital role in your overall health including the skin. Proteins are important as well as these will repair and restore damaged tissue.

The most common skin disorders that people suffer from are uneven skin tone, acne, wrinkles and fine lines. This often happens due to lack of vitamins and minerals. You must feed your body in order for it to perform optimally. The body needs these vitamins just to exist. A good example of this is lemons, they provide a good source of vitamins and mineral and also contain anti oxidants that promote healthy skin. A combination of minerals, vitamins and proteins aid in the promotion of healthy skin.

The reason that lemon juice can be a good homemade acne treatment is the contents provide calcium, minerals like potassium and also magnesium. Plus important vitamins such as C,E and B. Acne can occur when the hair follicle gets clogged and becomes inflamed. Acne scarring occurs when there is irregular tissue growth and production of collagen. Not getting enough B complex and not enough hydration results in wrinkles. Lack of vitamin C can be the cause of hyper pigmentation.

Using lemon juice topically and orally can be very effective for a homemade acne treatment and overall healthier skin. Your skin will be clean, supple and softer.

You can use the lemon juice in two ways to get the maximum benefits. Slice a piece of lemon and apply directly to the face covering the affected areas. Or you can put the lemon juice on a cotton ball and apply to the face that way. I would personally suggest using a cotton ball or some other applicant to prevent the acne and bacteria from spreading.

Using different applicants when applying the lemon juice to the non-affected and affected areas will reduce the risk of bacteria spreading. Simply leave for several hour, then rinse with warm water. Pat dry, do not rub the skin with the towel. Lemon juice will also remove dead skin cells and excess sebum, kill germs, and remove dirt. Now your skin will feel soft, clean and fresh. Dilute the juice with a small amount of water if you feel it is too potent for your skin.
