Proactiv products have been gaining a lot of popularity today as the leading brand to help treat and prevent the symptoms of mild to moderate acne skin conditions. The most popular of these is the Proactiv 3-Step Skincare System, which consists of a cleanser, toner and moisturizer formulated with benzoyl peroxide, which have been proven to be effective in killing acne-causing bacteria.

Although there is no doubt that this is effective, some acne conditions would require the use of supplementary products developed by Proactiv as part of its skincare product line. Proactiv Refining Mask is just one of these supplementary products. Apart from pulling away impurities that are found deep within the pores, this medicated mask also lifts away dead skin cell layers, allowing healthy skin cells to surface, improving your skin’s texture and tone.

Here are the Proactiv directions on using the Refining Mask to supplement the 3-Step Skincare System.

Step 1 – Cleanse your face with the use of Proactiv Renewing Cleanser. To do this, massage for five minutes a pea-size amount of the cleanser all over your face using circular strokes. Rinse your face completely with warm water. Dry your face with a clean towel using a patting motion.

Step 2 – Get about a quarter-size amount of Proactiv’s Refining Mask and apply this all over your face. After the initial application, massage this again all over the face using circular strokes for another five minutes. Focus on the nose, forehead and chin areas. Leave on for 15 minutes.

Step 3 – Rinse thoroughly with warm water, rubbing your face with gentle strokes to completely remove any remnants of the mask. Pat your face dry again with a clean towel.

Step 4 – Apply Proactiv Revitalizing Toner with the use of a cotton ball in a circular motion, avoiding the eye area. Follow this up with the Proactiv Repairing Lotion.

To make sure that you get the fullness of the benefits of using the Proactiv Refining Mask, use this along with the 3-Step Skincare System every two weeks, or as often as directed by your dermatologist.
